The Next Step: Beyond the Degree
The theme for our second Northeast Regional Conference was focused on developing skills and learning about the different options available after college whether it was in industry or academia. We expanded to co-host this year's Conference with Boston University, Cornell, and Binghamton University. Students from Syracuse, Stony Brook, Wellesley, and University of New Hampshire were also in attendance! We had two keynotes: Professor Iqbal Quadir and Mr. Amin Radi and the day was filled with engaging workshops and panels ranging from leadership styles and supply chain management workshops to a bioengineering workshop and an Asian Professional Organizations panel!

A New Start
In our second year, we knew we wanted to expand our membership base and had a lot of expanding to do. Our exec board is currently 11 people. We planned many events this fall and aim to have a Northeast Regional Conference in March with Binghamton, BU, and Cornell. We spent some time as a new board reviewing our mission and redefining it in the context of MIT. We also traveled down to Baltimore in September for the first National SASE Conference.

Breaking the Glass Ceiling
Our first Boston Regional Conference theme was Breaking the Glass Ceiling! We co-hosted it with Cornell's SASE Chapter at the Tang Center at MIT. It was a success! The morning focused on technology and innovation and the afternoon focused on leadership and culture. The speakers were engaging and it was exciting to meet students from another SASE Chapter. Members of National SASE attended and were excited about planning a National Conference in the Fall of 2011.
