Walker That Transforms Into A Cane
2.009 Product Engineering Processes
September 2011-present
System Integrator
Project:
I led a team of 12 students to design and fabricate an alpha prototype of a walker that turns into a cane. There were six major milestones for the class: 3-Ideas Presentation, Sketch-up Review, Mock-up Review, Assembly Review, Technical Review, and Final Review. We started from an initial idea and developed many prototypes along the way. We changed the design and architecture 3 times between Mock-Up Review and Final Review but ultimately decided on the design to the left. It is a walker that is designed for the independent walker user who wants more flexibility than a typical walker.
